David, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin? My name is David Jofre and I’m a Chilean-American-trained actor who has been working in the TV and Film Industry for +20 years. I was born and raised in Chile and ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be an actor. I feel fortunate to be able to work in what I love!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way? It’s been a bumpy and very long road! I think the biggest struggle at the beginning was my accent and not been able to book many speaking parts, except for Spanish roles. But, working with an accent reduction coach made a huge difference in my career.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others? I’m a trained actor with +20 years of experience in the Film and TV industry. Most of my acting career has been in the Pacific Northwest, where I’ve done narrative film and tv commercials. Some of my most proud moments were in 2021 when I won best lead actor at the NYU film festival and 2022 best supporting role at the International Film Race. I consider myself a hardworking person and I look forward to future challenges and continue learning the craft of an actor.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey? There is a few lessons that I learned, and I always share them. The first is never give up on dreams. Then I’d say consistency and always be open to learn. And always be prepared!
